I have worked on over 1,000 unique titles in various production and operational capacities. Since my daily operational work is largely better captured in my résumé, I’ll be using the bulk of this space to elaborate on my time as a scriptwriter.

From 2012 to 2016, I served as an ADR scriptwriter for Funimation Entertainment. In this capacity, I wrote and localized over forty English episodic dub scripts and one movie-length TV special script for a diverse array of Funimation titles. The localization process involves reviewing the direct English translations of original Japanese scripts, adapting them in such a way that they better adhere to technical (syncing to onscreen mouth movements), practical (writing natural, unstilted dialogue for North American audiences), and content-related (accurately capturing a character’s voice) considerations.

Prior to this role, I also served as a scriptwriter for BetterVideo, a content producer for the apartment finder website ForRent.com. While with BetterVideo, I developed scripts that highlighted the features and amenities of various living communities. Some apartment complexes were more upscale, while others prioritized affordability and consequently had fewer traits to tout (though crown moulding and frost-free refrigerators were pretty constant).

Lastly, I’ve volunteered as a Pet Profile Writer for a local no-kill non-profit organization, helping numerous dogs find their forever homes by evoking their irresistible personalities.

Set amidst the backdrop of quick turnaround times, all of these writing experiences made for a challenging yet rewarding exercise in creativity. Details on a handful of these assignments along with a clip from my tenure as Digital Production Manager can be found above.
