Penning one Grand Line after another

I first set sail on writing for the long-running, pirate adventure franchise One Piece with episode 466. Having only previously viewed the series’s earliest episodes, with random tidbits of the 390s-400s sprinkled in, my belated entry point necessitated much research to ensure I did protagonist Monkey D. Luffy and the rest of the huge ensemble of characters justice. This was especially important for Luffy, given the emotional weight of the episodes I was assigned. The Marineford Arc in particular plays a pivotal role in Luffy’s development, finding him arguably more desperate and despondent than at any previous point in his journey.

Coincidentally, I have now localized more episodes of One Piece than all other titles combined.

My scriptwriting schooner has charted course on the following story arcs:

  • Marineford Arc

  • Post-War Arc (Luffy, Ace, and Sabo’s childhood)

  • 3D2Y movie-length TV Special

  • Fishman Island Arc
