Preaching the PCLC gospel
Long before my Content Ops and Scriptwriting careers were in motion, I was once a raw albeit enthusiastic high school field lacrosse player. Although the experience only lasted my freshman year, it helped plant a seed of interest in the sport, one that unexpectedly sprouted twenty years later when the National Lacrosse League granted the city of Fort Worth an expansion team, the Panther City Lacrosse Club (PCLC). Upon discovering the team’s existence (and acquainting myself with the box variation of lacrosse), my long-dormant fancy grew into a fascination, so much so that a like-minded friend and I started the Cowtown Cats Lacrosse Podcast in 2022. My co-host and I covered all things PCLC - game recaps/previews, postgame pressers with the players and head coach, local team events, and interviews with PCLC staff members and other key figures in the PCLC and larger lacrosse communities. We soon became the most popular podcast centered around the team.
Alas, despite our best efforts, the DFW Metroplex didn’t quite develop into a hotbed of box lacrosse, so after three seasons PCLC unfortunately ceased operations. However, our episodes and fond memories covering the team remain.
